Prefab Sprout
Lions in My Own Garden (Exit Someone) (1982)
(McAloon)

The beautiful debut by one of my favourite bands:
Prefab Sprout's first single.

This tab sounds pretty original. That is because it is mostly a
transcription of a tab by the songwriter Paddy McAloon himself:
The original is not very readable, so I tried to improve it in
this respect and added some notes to the chords to make it
sound good when played alone without a band.

The song has been reissued on: “38 Carat Collection”

CHORDS/SPECIAL VOICINGS
I had to give names to some of these chords which was not always easy,
as they are rather idiosyncratic. Who has got better ideas? –
I'm open for suggestions.

Tonight, let's pretend that this will last

       A E/G# B/C#
And it doesn't sum it up to say he's singing the blues
       A E/G# B/C#
And whoever learnt to walk in somebody else's shoes?
     A E/G# B(add11)/C#
He's screaming because he's found something to lose

A G#m7 B F#m

The rumours have started that we are both young

Lions in my own garden, exit someone

B C#m7 D7/9 F#sus4/G#

And it doesn't sum it up to say he's singing the blues
