Cashout Bass

(ver. 1)
Fugazi
Fugazi
“Cashout”
The Argument
(bass enters at approx. 0:17)

let ring for 1 measure:
G-(2)-------------------------|
D-----------------------------|
A-----------------------------|
E-----------------------------|

main bass part(0:19)
This is hard to discern, because of the way the guitar parts intermingle with Joe’s bass
but this sounds right to me.

G--------------------11---------11/-13-|
D------------1-----9----9---11--9-/-11-|
A-----6----2---2-----------------------|
E-4-4---4------------------------------|

little variation the 3rd time through(0:29):

G--------------------11--------13/11---|
D------------1-----9----9---9--11/9----|
A-----6----2---2-----------------------|
E-4-4---4------------------------------|

the last time before the chorus(0:52):

G--------------------11----------------|
D------------1-----9-----9--11/9-------|
A-----6----2---2-----------------------|
E-4-4---4------------------------------|

Chorus (0:57):

this is played twice
G--------------------11-----------------|
D------------1-----9----9---11-11-9-----|
A-----6----2---2------------------------|
E---4---4-------------------------------|

this is the 3rd time
(1:06)
G--------------------11-------------------|
D------------1-----9----9------9-11-9-----|
A-----6----2---2--------------------------|
E---4---4---------------------------------|

this is the last time
(1:11)
G----------------------------------------|
D--------------------------4-6-----------|
A-----6-------6--------4-6---------------|
E---4---4---7---7--4-7-------------------|

(1:16)
The guitars plays the intro again, I don’ hear any bass…

Then it basically repeats, it varies between the parts I’ve already listed,
just listen to it closely(I know the bass is hard to hear, but try and focus in on it,
you should be able to hear the variations)

“everybody wants somewhere” part (2:02):

G---------------------------------|
D---------------------------------|
A----4-4-2------------------------|
E--4-------4----------------------|

then the guitars play the intro…

then there is this cool little walk-down part(2:49)

G-8-8-8-8-7-7-7-7-6-6-6-6-5-5-5-5-4-4-4-4-3-3-3-3-2----|
D------------------------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------------------------|

“process, and dismissal”(2:59):
the G# played 15 times
G-------------------------------|
D-------------------------------|
A---6---------------------------|
E-4---4-------------------------|
on the 16th time play this(3:17):
G-------------------------------|
D-------------------------------|
A---6---------------------------|
E-7---7-------------------------|

then bass cuts out for another guitar intro, then does the walk-down again
(3:42)
G-------------------------------------------------------|
D------------------------------end with------------4-6--|
A----6-----2-4-2----------------(4:17)---------4-6------|
E--4---4----------------------------------4-7-----------|

Very, very cool song. I hope I didn’t make this tab seem more daunting than it is :)
have fun!
