Buddy Holly Tabs

(ver. 1)
Biffy Clyro
This is the tab for biffy's awesome cover of weezers buddy holly. Theres some really
riffing in this, with some tricky timimg, so you should listen to the song to get a good
of the rythym.

Tuning - Drop C, i.e. CGCFAD

Tab symbols
/=slide up \=slide down h=hammer on p=pull off ^=bend

pm=palm muting

Note on bending:
12^15^13 means bend at the 12 fret, and bend the note up to the note at the 15th fret,
bend down to the note on the 13th fret.

intro:
part 1:

-7-7-7---7-7-7---7-7-7---7-7-7\-|
--------------------------------|
--------------------------------|
--------------------------------|

part 2: Listen to the song for the proper rythym, don't get hung up on playing the 10
6 times, it's just to show the notes played. Use the same logic for part 3.

Then play part 3 again twice, and verse 1 again twice. Then,

Bridge 2:
all pm

play twice, then play this next bit 3 times

Chorus:
------------------------|
------------------------|
------------------------|
-5-----------3----------|
-3-----------3----------|
-------------3----------|
oo we oo.., just like buddy...

-13----13----13-----|
----13----13----13--|

-------------3-5--5--------|
-3-0-3-------3-5--3--------|
-3-0-3-------1-3--3----10\-|
-3-0-3------------3----10\-|

Crazy bit:
---
---
-5-
-3- just strum really fast, listen to the record for better info.
-3-
-3-

then play,

riff 1

----------------------------------|
----------------------------------|
----------------------------------|
----------------------------------|
----------------------------------|
-0-0-0-0-2-0-0-2-2--0-0-0-2-0-0-2-|

then,

--- --- ---|
--- --- ---|
-5- -6- -7-|
-3- x a lot, then slide up to -4- strum fast, then slide and end on -5-|
-3- -4- -5-|
-3- -4- -5-|

then riff 1 again, once. then, i can tell you what chord to start on but after that your
your own, just keep strumming fast, slide up the neck slowly and then just mess about
the strings high up, that tends to sound quite close.

----
----
-10-
-8--
-8--
-8--

then after all the crazy stuff is over

-------------------- -------|
-------------------- -------|
-------------------- -------|
---------------5-5-- play this 4 times then -7\----|
-0-0-0-0-2-0-0-3-3-- -5\----|
-0-0-0-0-2-0-0-2-2-- -----0-|

then play:

------------------------------------------------------------|
-15-15--15--17-15--15-15--15--13-15--15-15--15--13-13-13-17-|
-14-14--14--14-14--14-14--14--14-14--14-14--14--12-12-12-14-|
------------------------------------------------------------| x2
------------------------------------------------------------|
------------------------------------------------------------|

---------------------------------------------------------|
---3-----3---/13---3-----3---/10----3-----3--13-13-13\---|
---2-----2---/12---2-----2---/9-----2-----2--12-12-12\---|
-----0-0-------------0-0--------------0-0----------------| x2
---------------------------------------------------------|
-0---------------0----------------0----------------------|

then,

chorus 2:
------------------------------|
------------------------------| Strum each chord once first time, then strum
-9-----10----2----3----1----6-| in a proper rythym, listen to the song to
-0-----0-----0----0----0----0-| get it right.
-x-----x-----x----x----x----x-|
-10----12----4----5----2----7-|

then play this 4 times,

Riff 2:
--------------------------------------------------------|
--------------------------------------------------------|
--------------------------------------------------------|
--------7-----7---8----7-----7----------7-----7---1-1-1-|
--------5-----5---6----5-----5----------5-----5---1-1-1-|
-10\--0---0-0---0----0---0-0---0-10\--0---0-0---0-1-1-1-|

Then for the solo, there are 2 basic chords which are used in a really wierd timing and
so liten to the record and work it out for yourself.

--- ---|
--- ---|
-3- and -7-|
-1- -5-|
-1- -5-|
-1- -5-|

and finally heres the solo thing at the end,

Solo:
-10--8--6--4--3^4^3------8--10--11--13--13---11---------11h13-11h13-13^14-11-|
---------------------3-----------------------------10h12---------------------|

-------11h13-11h13-15^17^15-11-----11----11-13-13^15^13-11----11---11-13-|
-10h12--------------------------------12-------------------12----12------|

-------------------------|
--13^15^13-11------------|
--------------12-----14--|
-------------------------|
-------------------------|
-------------------------|

and thats it, have fun!
