Notes: There are a lot of little hammer-ons using your pinky in this song,
you can add them wherever it seems necessary. I'll tab a few of them out.
The "Dsus4" chord is the best i could come up with, but it's a "C" slid up two
frets. Other than that it's pretty basic. The Am parts you just pick, strum,
hammer-on. Listen to the song.

Am - 002210
D - xx0232
Dm - xx0231
C - 032010
Dsus4 - 054030

Am (and D) hammer-ons/pull offs in no order (use pinky for hammer ons)
e|----0-0-0---0-0-0---0^3^0-----------2^3^2-----1^3^1----------------------|
B|----1^3^1---1^0^1---1-1-1-----------3-3-3-----3-3-3----------------------|
G|----2-2-2---2-2-2---2-2-2-----------2-2-2-----2-2-2----------------------|
D|----2-2-2---2-2-2---2-2-2-----------0-0-0-----0-0-0----------------------|
A|----0-0-0---0-0-0---0-0-0------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|

On the transition to chorus from Am to C play this little step up, then slide C to Dsus4:

e|--0----------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--1------------------1----1-1-1\3--3----1--------------------------------|
G|--2---------------0-------0-0-0\0--0----2--------------------------------|
D|--2------------2----------2-2-2\4--4----2--------------------------------|
A|--0---0--2--3-------------3-3-3\5--5----0--------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Am
She locked herself in that room
with a full view of a full moon
D
and this where she comes to fly
Dm
when she wanna disappear from what's outside.
Am
I try not to make it obvious
she doesn't know there's an audience.
Am
These walls are ripped and thin
So it ain't my fault that I'm listenin'.
D
And I can make out every word
Dm
Cause she sing loud like a trapped bird
Am
she looks out at the stars
when she writes songs on that guitar.

C
And every song you write without me,
Dsus4 Am
just another sad song to me.
C
And every song you write without me,
Dsus4 Am
sound like who I'll never be.

Am
She picked up her instrument
and I don't know where I went.
D
I just close my eyes and float
Dm
like I'm in there with her tryin' to hold all
Am
the notes she hits, motionless,
my secret solo show she gives.
Am
Sometimes she'll search for a line
and I wish I could give her one of mine.
D
But it would all unravel
Dm
if she found out I was in the shadows.
Am
So I suppress what I obsess,
but your biggest fan wanna sing a duet.

C
Because every song you write without me,
Dsus4 Am
just another sad song to me.
C
And every song you write without me,
Dsus4 Am
sound like who I'll never be.

Am
Familiar with the voice of the lonely,
lost in the noise of the wind blowing,
D
Go ahead, girl, tell your story,
Dm
but the siren don't wail for holy.
Am
Play your heart by strings,
with the parts you sing.
Can't wait to hear what tomorrow brings.
Am
And if you ever get to smile,
I'll be right here tryin' to reconcile
D
my desire to admire your sadness.
Dm
You gon rise from the fire and ashes.
Am
And if it's all the same to you,
you oughta let me be the one to change your tune

C
Cause every song you write without me,
Dsus4 Am
just another sad song to me.
C
And every song you write without me,
Dsus4 Am
sound like who I'll never be.
