We Exist Tabs

(ver. 1)
Arcade Fire
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                  Arcade Fire - We Exist
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuning: Standard

----------------------------------

 Guitar 1
e|---------------|
B|---------------|
G|-4-------------|
D|-6-------------|
A|-6-------------|
E|-4-------------|

 Guitar 2
e|-----11--------|
B|-----12--------|
G|-----13--------|
D|-----13--------|
A|---------------|
E|---------------|

 Guitar 3
e|------------4--|
B|------------5--|
G|------------6--|
D|------------6--|
A|---------------|
E|---------------|

Do this a total of three times. The singing starts. Next time, leave out
guitar 1 and 3. After that, the verse chords:

----------
Verse
----------
e.g.
They walk in the room and stare right through you, talking like we don't exist
e|---4-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---5----------------------------------------------7-----------9------------|
G|---6----------------------------------------------8-----------9------------|
D|---6----------------------------------------------9-----------9------------|
A|---4----------------------------------------------9-----------7------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------7------------------------|

         But we exist.
e|--11-----|
B|--12-----|
G|--13-----|
D|--13-----|
A|--11-----|
E|---------|

etc.
The strings at the end of the verse sound like:
e|-------------------|
B|-10-9-----------9--|
G|------9-11---------|
D|-----------9-11----|
A|-------------------|
E|-------------------|

----------
Chorus
----------
Maybe it's true, they're staring at you when you walk in the room
e|-5------------------------4------------------------------------------------|
B|-5------------------------4-----------------------6------------------------|
G|-6------------------------4-----------------------6------------------------|
D|-7------------------------6-----------------------6------------------------|
A|-7------------------------6-----------------------4------------------------|
E|-5------------------------4------------------------------------------------|

Tell 'em it's fine, stare if you like, just let us through...
e|-5-------------------4-----------------------------------------------------|
B|-5-------------------4------------------6---------------------9------------|
G|-6-------------------4------------------6---------------------9------------|
D|-7-------------------6------------------6---------------------9------------|
A|-7-------------------6------------------4---------------------7------------|
E|-5-------------------4-----------------------------------------------------|

   Just let us through
e|---------------------|
B|-11------------------|
G|-11------------------|
D|-11------------------|
A|-9-------------------|
E|---------------------|

Repeat verse. Another guitar plays the same chords, very staccato. The G#m is
then played an octave lower (466444).
In the second chorus, after 'When you walk in the room', these strings are
notable:
e|------------------|
B|------------------|
G|-10-11-10-8-------|
D|------------11-9--|
A|------------------|
E|------------------|

At the end, the F# chord will get backed by an extra guitar playing the chord
one octave lower (244322).

----------
Bridge
----------
Follow the same chords as during the chorus (but without the F#). You may
like to play the bass line at the beginning. There is more, obviously, but
there are bass tabs for that:
e|---------------|
B|---------------|
G|---------------|
D|-7-6-----------|
A|-----9-7-9-----|
E|-----------9---|

Then there is this very cool string part. To play some part of it on guitar,
I think it's something like this:
e|--------------------------------------------------|
B|-10-9-----------------------------------9-----9---|
G|------9-9\8-------------11-10-8-------------------|
D|------------9-------------------11-9-11----11-----|
A|--------------12-11-9-8---------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------|

This is played a second time later on, with this right behind it, repeated a
couple of times:
e|-----------|
B|---------9-|
G|-----------|
D|-11-9-11---|
A|-----------|
E|-----------|

Bridge ends on the C#-chord (x4666x).

Then there is some sort of more relaxed, groovy part. Chords for this are:
e|-------------|
B|-6--------5--|
G|-6--------6--|
D|-6--------6--|
A|-4--------4--|
E|-------------|

Riff at 4:01
e|--------------------------------------------|
B|-------9-9-------------9-9-------------9-9--|
G|-10-11-----11-10-10-11-----11-10-10-11------|
D|--------------------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------|

e|--------------------------------------|
B|------9-9-----------9-9---------------|
G|-9-11-----11-9-9-11-----11-9-8-9-8----|
D|-----------------------------------11-|
A|--------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------|

at 4:42
e|---------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------9-------------|
G|--------8------------8--9--11----------------|
D|-11---------11---11---------------9----9--9--|
A|---------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------|

The guitar arpeggio's at the end sound like loosely arpeggiated versions
of higher notes of the C# and C#minor
e|-9----9--|
B|-9----9--|
G|-10---9--|
D|---------|
A|---------|
E|---------|

I think that's it. Feel free to comment!
