Diamonds And Gasoline Chords

(ver. 1)
Turnpike Troubadours
Turnpike Troubadours
Diamonds and Gasoline

This is one of my favorite songs and the title track of the album. The lyrics have odd timing with the
chords so you definitely need to listen to it a few times to get it right. I couldn't find it anywhere
on the internet so I did it myself. This is the first tab I've ever done so I have no idea how
accurate it is. I've never even seen it played, I'm just going off my ear. If anyone knows the picking
pattern, I'd appreciate it.

There is a walkdown from C to Am throughout the song with a chord that looks like this:

x oo o
______
||||x|
______
||||||
______
|x||||
______
||||||

I'm sure it has a name, but I don't know it. If anyone knows, feel free to let me know.

CHORDS: C Am F G

Verse 1

C      Am         F            C
Under cover and blame it on a season
C                    Am          F              G
It ain't no kind of reason, baby why I come and go
C       Am          F               C
I had a lover, she felt as good as trees
C                          Am                  F                C
and you can't ask if it's please and you can't ask the wind to blow

CHORUS

C           G                          F            C

C    G                              F               C
If I can't afford you darlin then I can't afford to dream
C         F                C             F              Am
And is it time I should be moving, is it time I settled down
C                 Am                F               C
Will I sit still or will I feel the wheels spinning round

All the colors they shine and fade away
C                                     Am       F                C

C         F                C             F              Am
And is it time I should be moving, is it time I settled down
C                 Am                F               C
