Phoenix Park Ukulele

(ver. 1)
The Tossers
For the intro on guitar, pick out a “d” chord on a capo five, but if your like me and
lost your capo or don't own one pick out a G power chord.

Now there's two ways you can do this you can play it on a capo five or play it open
I'm going to give you both ways. It's going to look like this D/G

The top note is what you will play on a capo 5 and the bottom is open so here you go

          D/G G/C D/G
In the park I sat down with my love,
               A/D D/G
And not a thing was wrong.
                                     G/C D/G
The sun shone down from up above,
               D/A D/G
And not a thing was wrong.

Chorus
         G/C D/G
And I go to where our voices paired,
                                    A/D
And leapt from off the stone.
        G/C D/G A/D D/G G/C
And that's the voice that I still here whenever I sing alone, alone.
        D/G A/D D/G
Whenever I sing alone.

Not many a thought did I abide,
Nor was I help when things went wrong.
At the cemetery by your graveside,
Now everything is wrong.

Chorus

Musical break (play what you see above “Phoenix park in summertime”)

Well I know exactly where I'm going,
And God knows who I adore.
Tho' my prayers did ask to take my pain,
I wish I could've taken yours much more.

D/G
Phoenix Park in summertime,
G/C D/G
Gathering by day and night.
D/G
By the hearth in wintertime,
  G/C A/D D/G
Gathering just to say goodbye
