Third Engine Tabs

(ver. 2)
Saves The Day
THIRD ENGINE (ACOUSTIC)
As performed by Chris Conley of Saves the Day

Standard tuning

INTRO
Each measure is the same duration of time. The first two appear longer because I
had to fit the double-digit fret numbers. Also, Chris doesn't always play all of
the below. Sometimes he skips the first two measures, and sometimes he keeps those
but skips the repetition of the last two.

And it's played pretty fast.

VERSE
Don't strum the entire chord each time. Strum most of the strings (changing it
each time), so the chords sound varied from strum to strum.

CHORUS
The lower notes have more emphasis than those on the high E string, which should
be much quieter than the rest. When the chorus repeats the second time around
("Trying to touch your knees, yeah..."), switch this so that the highest strings
are emphasized. There's really a second guitar playing a higher part, but this is
a way to emulate that sound with a single guitar.

BRIDGE
Sometimes he palm mutes the second two repetitions, letting up on the last C chord.

"Oh why don't they have phones on these things?"

OUTRO
Not much of an outro but I don't know what else to call it.

And there are all the riffs. You can probably figure it out, but they come together like this:
