Thankless Bas Chords

(ver. 1)
Pat Mccurdy
Thankless Bastard
Possibly the easiest Pat song to ever learn.
During the A E pattern in the verse hit the bass
not then strum the chord. See below for the A(?)
chord. I couldn't find what it was to save
myself, but I know it's the correct chord.

	     A E A E
There was an English guy with two last names
        A E A E
In the cubicle next to me

	  A E A E
He was a snotty English guy with a tweed overcoat
        A E
And an air of superiority.

	  D A(?) E A
I said we bailed out your ass in World War two

    D A(?) E A
If not for us you can bet that you

       D A(?) E A
Would not be raising your whiny voice

E
You'd be goose-stepping baby
And sprechen Sie Deutsch

	 	    D A(?) G
He was a thankless bastard

	   A E A E
Yes He was

		    Bm F# G
He was a thankless bastard

	     A E A E
Just because

The La La part is the same as "I said we bailed
out your ass in World War two..."
That's the whole song, just repeat it for the
other two verses. Here's that A I can't figure
out. I'm assuming it's an A, but I could be way
wrong. It wouldn't be a first! A or not, this is
the proper chord!
