Constant Conversations Chords

(ver. 1)
Passion Pit
"Constant Conversations"
Passion Pit - Gossamer (2012)

Really, the only song I liked off of this album. I can understand Passion
Pit's appeal, but it's never been for me. This song is pretty great, though,
and I'm surprised there isn't already a tab for it. After playing around with
it for a while, I settled on a capo at the first fret using barre chords.
I'll also include a slightly easier version with a capo on the third.

Anyway, key of C minor for you soloists. Here's the chord shapes:

Bm ----- X24432
F#m ---- 244222
G ------ 355433 (sounds better like this, but you could use 320003)
D ------ XX0232
A ------ X02220
Em ----- 022000

I have a feeling that some of those minor chords are also sevenths, not that
it matters too much.

Thus:

(Intro)

G F#m G F#m

(Vocal Sample)

Bm F#m G D

Bm F#m G A

              Bm F#m G
Well you're wrapped up in a blanket
              G D
and you're staring at the floor;
            Bm F#m G
the conversation's moderated
         G A
   Bm F#m G
I never wanna hurt you baby,
            G D
I'm just a mess with a name and a price,
             Bm F#m G
and now I'm drunker than before they,
               G A
they told me drinking doesn't make me nice.

 G F#m
You never know where some people will go,
      Em D
yeah some people been hurtin' me.
         G F#m
You can tell by look, by the slightest crook
        Em A
in the neck or the blink of an eye.
                 G F#m
Well then we'll see what they say and we'll do what they do,
           Em D
but that doesn't mean a goddamn thing.
          G F#m
You can listen if you want, you can listen if you don't,
              Em A
yeah they'll talk, yeah they'll even sing.

               G F#m Em F#m
Everybody now, oh oh oh oh oh
            G F#m
They come singing through the window, singing through the trees,
                Em F#m
yeah, they're singing through the bright spring leaves.
               G F#m Em F#m
Everybody now, oh oh oh oh oh
           G F#m
Yeah they love you when they need you, but someday you're gonna need to
           Em F#m
find some other kind of place to go, oh.

Now you're standing in the kitchen,
and you're pouring out my drink.
Well there's a very obvious difference,
and it's that one of us can think.
If there's a bump in the road yeah you fix it,
but for me I'll just run off the road.
But tonight you've got me cornered,
and I haven't got a place to go.

You never know where some people will go,
yeah some people been hurtin' me.
You can tell by look, by the slightest crook
in the neck or the blink of an eye.
Well then we'll see what they say and we'll do what they do,
but that doesn't mean a goddamn thing.
You can listen if you want, you can listen if you don't
yeah they'll talk, yeah they'll even sing.

Everybody now, oh oh oh oh oh
They come singing through the window, singing through the trees
yeah they're singing through the bright spring leaves.
Everybody now, oh oh oh oh oh (Sing it loud, sing it loud)
Yeah they love you when they need you, but someday you're gonna need to
find some other kind of place to go, don't you know.
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

You could capo at the third fret and use the following chord shapes (original
shapes in parentheses), but I don't think it sounds as good:

Am (Bm) ---- X02210
Em (F#m) --- 022000
F (G) ------ 133211
C (D) ------ X32010
G (A) ------ 320003
Dm (Em) ---- XX0231
