(ver. 1)
Kris Kristofferson
Here Comes That Rainbow Again
written by Kris Kristofferson

INTRO: D  Dsus2  D   Dsus2   D   Dsus2   D  Dsus2

      D                        Dsus2      D                          A
The scene was a small roadside caffe, the waitress was sweepin' the floor
                                                            D
Two truckdrivers drinkin' their coffee, 2 Oakie kids by the door
                                 Dsus2         D                        A
How much are them candies they asked her, how much have you got she replied
                                                        D
We've only a penny between us, them's 2 for a penny she lied

CHORUS:
         G                          D
And the daylight grew heavy with thunder
           A                       Dsus2
With the smell of the rain on the wind
G                       D
  Ain't it just like a human
A                        D
Here comes that rainbow again

(KEY CHANGE TO E)

      E                                                      B7
One truckdriver called to the waitress after the kids went outside
                                                           E
Them candies ain't 2 for a penny, so what's it to you she replied
                                                                 B7
In silence they finished their coffee, then got up and nodded goodbye
                                                                  E
She called hey you left too much money, so what's it to you they replied

CHORUS:
           A                     E
And the daylight was heavy with thunder
           B7                      E
With the smell of the rain on the wind
A                        E
  Ain't it just like a human
B7                        E
Here comes that rainbow again

NOTE: Most of the tabs I've seen for this have it in G, then changing to A. This sounds
good, but it doesn't match the recording I used (he recorded it several times, and at least
one of them I'm sure is a different key). If you want to play it in G and A (it's easier
for me to sing, I know), then use these chords:

FIRST HALF:

D=G
A=D
G=C

SECOND HALF:

E=A
B7=E
A=D
