You're So Vain Tabs

(ver. 2)
Faster Pussycat
Ok this is an awesome cover by Faster Pussycat but the other tab on here was missing
parts i don't have alot of the lead parts down yet but i have the main parts of the song
put 2 guitars on it for sum of lead parts i got and i didn't put exact timing but you
figure it out by listening to the song because its not that hard..

symbols used
~-vibrato
/-slide

guitar 1- rhythm
guitar 2- lead

tuning-standard

Intro-
guitar 1 (played several times)
e-------------------------------|
b-------------------------------|
g-5-5-2-5-5-2-------------------|
d-5-5-2-5-5-2-------------------|
a-3-3-0-3-3-0-------------------|
e-------------------------------|
pm the C5 chord

guitar 2
e---------------------------------------------------|
b---------------------------------------------------|
g----3-/-5~-----------------------------------------|
d--------------5-/-7~-------------------------------|
a---------------------------------------------------|
e---------------------------------------------------|

for this you just slide up and do a little vibrato

then you do this when the song breaks out
e------------------------------------------------------|
b------------------------------------------------------|
g-----15-/-17-17-17-17---------------------------------|
d----------------------17-17-/-19-19-19----------------|
a------------------------------------------------------|
e------------------------------------------------------|

verses- guitar 1 and 2
e----------------|
b----------------|
g----------------|
d-7-7-----3-3----|
a-7-7-----3-3----|
e-5-5-----1-1----|

listen for the rhythm...i think its like A5 twice then F5 twice..
and then there sum lead licks in there..just mess around and make sumthing else unless i
it out or sum1 else

pre choruses
both guitars

e-----------------------------|
b-----------------------------|
g-----------------------------|
d-3-3-------5-7---------------|
a-3-3 pause-5-7---------------|
e-1-1-------3-5---------------|

then guitar 1 hits a F5 chord while guitar 2 plays the bottom part

guitar 2 plays this after top part
e------------------------------------|
b------------------------------------|
g------------------------------------|
d------7b-7-5---5--------------------|
a-------------7----------------------|
e------------------------------------|

then the clouds in the coffee part guitar 1 hits a C5 and guitar 2 plays

e--------------------------------------------|
b--------------------------------------------|
g-9-10-9-7-9-7-5-5-5-5-/7--5-5-5-5-/7-5------|
d-x-x--x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x--x--x-x-x-x--x-x------|
a-7-8--7-5-7-5-3-3-3-3-/5--3-3-3-3-/5-3------|
e--------------------------------------------|
i think the C is played 4xs but just feel it out
during the c to the d part guitar 1 pm C5 building up to the chorus

Chorus- guitar 1 and 2

e----------------------------------------------------|
b----------------------------------------------------|
g-------------7-7-7----------------------------------|
d-5-5-7-5-5-7-7-7-7-5-5-7-7-7-7-3-3-3-5-5--5-5--5-5--|
a-3-3-3-3-3-3-5-5-5-3-3-3-7-7-7-3-3-3-5-5--5-5--5-5--|
e-------------------------5-5-5-1-1-1-3-3--3-3--3-3--|

and during the G the lead guitar is playing sumthing like

either
g-/12-12~--12-12~--12-12~----

or

e---------|
b---------|
g-12-12---|
d--x--x---|
a-10-10---|
e---------| 3xs i believe

for the solo you play the verse and pre choruse and i don't have the exact solo down yet
you can use this scale to get an idea of it..its the a minor pentatonic scale...

e---------------------5-8-|
b-----------------5-8-----|
g-------------5-7---------|
d---------5-7-------------|
a-----5-7-----------------|
e-5-8---------------------|

the outro is just the first part of the chorus the C5 chord to the D5 with soloing over it....

to figure out the solo later..

song structure-

intro
verse
pre chorus
chorues
verse
pre chorus
chorus
solo
verse
pre chorus
chours
outro
