The Grand Optimist Tabs

(ver. 1)
City And Colour

I was pretty disappointed with this album. Way too many metaphors that don't really make
sense, and too many "story songs." This is probably the best song from Little Hell.

(use 1st & 3rd fingers for the slide part so you can slide down into Am easily)

Chorus (if you can call it that...)

The part in paranthesis is optional. It's the vocal part, it isn't played by the guitar
in the song. I think it sounds good, but do whatever you feel like.

    G Am
e|--0------(0--)---(0--)-------------0------------|
B|--3------(5p3)---(5p3)-------------1------------|

Solo thing

G|-------------------5-5/7--5----5----------|
D|----------------------------7----7--------|
A|------------------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------|

e|--3------5\3--------------11--------------|
B|--------------5\3----5/13-----------------|
G|------------------------------------------|
D|------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------|
E|------------------------------------------|

I think he might bend some of the strings instead of sliding, but it's pretty difficult
to bend a full step on a capo'd acoustic. He might be using a pedal steel guitar or something.

Ending

e|--0------(0--)---(0--)-------------0------------|
B|--3------(5p3)---(5p3)-------------1------------|
G|--0--------------------------------2--2p0-------|
D|--0--------------------------------2------2p0---|
A|--2--------------------------------0------------|
E|--3---------------------------------------------|

"ooooooooooo i guess i take after my mother"

He does some little random pull-offs and maybe some hammer-ons during the last few
lines. You figure them out.

End on Am.
