                Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley

This is a much improved version of Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah"

(Slow, gradually working to a 6/8 time)

Part 1

|---9-9--5--5-|	X 4 For intro then
Heard.. Secret
David.. Pleased

First Verse
Part 1 X 2,

Part 2

You... really care.music Do ya.............

Use similar picking method for next part of verse and chorus.
The chords are:

        C F G
Well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth........
    Am F
The minor fall and the major lift
    G E Am
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

C G F Am
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
C G F CGC ( Last C into Part 1 again )
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

All verses are the same then it has this little solo bit that goes like this:

2nd time through
C G F CGF ( Lead into Pt 3 )
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Part 3

Part 1 x 2

Part 4 ( Leading in from Part 1 )

Part 5

Then back into verse again.

The Last chorus ends on an improvised strumming progression of C and Am, then finally finishes on the C.

That's about it really !!

Here are the words

Well I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased please the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do ya
Well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composes Hallelujah

Well your faith was strong, but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
And she broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips you drew Hallelujah

Well baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor, you know
I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Well the was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me do ya
But remember when I moved in you
And the Holy Dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above
But all I have ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hope you can figure it all out.
All the best
