Sister Mother Chords

(ver. 1)
Sixpence None The Richer
 By Sixpence None The Richer

I love this song! I couldn't find a good tab for it, so I tried to figure it out
Returning to the F# after each phrase of the chorus is optional. I like to play it that way,
I'm not sure that they actually do that on the recording.

F#* & E* are my way of pointing out that these two chords are played higher on the neck:
is on fret 9 (x91111119), and E* on fret 7 (x79997). (you could also just play the
F# and E if you want).

B Abm A
My life is plagued
      B Abm A E
By mistakes, broken heart, slaps in the face
B Abm A
But I'm trying to care
    E F# F#* E*
To dare to embrace your face

E F# Abm F#
Hug him like a brother
E F# Abm F#
Kiss her like a sister
E F# Abm F# E
Let it be my mother for now

B Abm A
I want to find
           B Abm A E
Where the maid in the street is pouring her wine
B Abm A
I heard she takes you in
      E F# F#* E*
And gives you the words you need said

E F# Abm F#
If you'll be her brother
E F# Abm F#
