Oasis Magic Pie Be Here Now tabbed by nongoth
This is my first tab from this album although I have tabbed 5 things from Definitely Maybe. Both albums rule. This song is no.3 and features Noel Gallagher singing which he does about once per album.
Intro (after 8 seconds) Dm Dm Am Am F F G G
Intro Gtr2: B---------12-10--------------| G---10h12--------------------| D----------------------12-10-| A----------------10h12-------|
B----------------------------| G---------------10-----------| D---------10h12----12--------| A---10h12--------------------|
B---------12-10-------------------| G---10h12-------------------------| D----------------------12-10------| A----------------10h12--------12--|
B-------------------------------------| G---------------10---12b--12-10~---/--| D---------10h12-----------------------| A---10h12-----------------------------|
Verse1 Dm Am An extraordinary guy F G Can never have an ordinary day, Dm Am He might live a long goodbye F G But that is not for me to say Dm Am I dig his friends, I dig his shoes F G But he is just a child with nothing to lose Dm Am F G But his mind..........his mind
Here, play the F in 4 strong even beats and the G in 8 quicker beats. At least point, whack on the distortion for the heavy bit to come.
Verse2 Dm Am They are sleeping while they dream F G And then they want to be adored Dm Am They who don't say what they mean F G Will live and die by their own sword. Dm Am I dig their friends, I dig their shoes F G But they are like a child with nothing to lose Dm Am F G In their minds.....their minds.
Bridge For the bridge, the first guitar part is almost completely incomprehensible so I switch to Gtr2 and play this:
B---------12-10---------------------| G---10h12---------------------------| D--------------------12-10-10-10h12-| A---------------10h12---------------|
I’ll have my way, In my own time, I’ll have my say, My star will shine.
On ‘shine’ hit the D---12-| and let it ring.
Drum Fill
Chorus D C G Cos’ you see me I got my Magic Pie D C G Think of me yeah that was me I was that passer by D Em~ I’ve been and now I’ve gone. D C D G
Link to verse: D---10---10---10-10--10-10-12-12-12-12-|
Verse2 There are but a thousand days preparing for a thousand years Many minds to educate people who have disappeared D’you dig my friends, D’you dig my shoes, But I am like a child with nothing to lose but my mind My mind
Bridge2 The same but the fill is: G------------------------| D---10-10-10-10-12-10-(x?) A------------------------| Again strum the 12 at ‘shine’.
Repeat Chorus At the end of the chorus play the: D C D G four times.

Chorus D C G Cos’ you see me I got my Magic Pie D C G Think of me yeah that was me I was that passer by D C G Think of me I got my Magic Pie DC G Think of me yeah that was me I was that passer by D Em~ I’ve been and now I’ve gone. D C D G D C D G D C D G D C D G
Outro Randomly tremolo pick the G-chord. When a drum fill ends strum harder. Continue this three times until the weird build-up then slide the G-chord up slowly whilst you tremolo pick and play the final strum when Noel says ‘Shut Up’ in the background.
That’s the end of Magic Pie. Have fun playing it. A great one to play at parties cos’ it sounds so good but is easy. Have fun my hard rockin’ amigos.
