most of m. ward's songs are in a fairly unused open d tuning. slack key players call it
"old mauna loa" i believe.
 and some old school blues players use it. its open d but the bottom (high sounding) 
strings remain at
 "B" "e"… so its DADF#Be. and when u strum it open, it sounds like most m ward songs already.

first tab attempt, but i couldn't find any of m. ward's songs in the proper tuning. so
here ya go. hope it helps.... just previewed it and it messed the alignment up.. so
figure it out from this.
