Collective Soul -- "Why Pt. 2"
Very awesome song. I figured this out from listening to it on the radio, so I hope everything's right. If the solo doesn't sound right...try octaves, they use 'em a lot in this song. Lots'a wah, too.
Main Riff: Heavy distortion |----------------| |----------------| |--6-6-6--6-6-6--| |--6-6-6--6-6-6--| |--4-4-4--4-4-4--| |----------------|
======================================================================= Chorus: Lead guitar -- wah Rythm guitar -- distortion |--------------| |--------------| |--3-----6--6--| |--3--4--6--6--| |--1--4--4--3--| |-----2--------|
======================================================================= Solo: Heavy wah & distortion (I know this first part is off, but I'm not really sure what Ross plays -- wah is hard to tab. =P Anyhow...feel free to play this pretty much however you want...I usually improvise on this. Rythm guitar plays the chorus riff.) |----------------------------------------------| |---------------------------------------xx-xx--| |--6^~~--6^-6^-6^-6^-6^------------6-6--xx-xx--| |--6^~~--6^-6^-6^-6^-6^-------6-6-------xx-xx--| x2 |------------------------4-4-------------------| |----------------------------------------------|
|-----------| |-----7-----| |--3--x--6--| (Each part is played a few times...pretty quick) |--x--4--x--| (Build the wah on the first two chords, then fluctuate on |--1-----4--| the Db) |-----------|
|------------------| |------------------| |--3^~--6^~--11^~--| (The Bb would probably be easier to bend in the |--x----x----x-----| sixth position, on the low E...|6x8xxx|) |--1^~--4^~--9^~---| |------------------|
