Hi, this is my second tab. This is a great song by a lovely band, hope I've got it
right. It's a bit complicated to look at it but its actually pretty easy...enjoy!

Intro
Strum between (F) and (C5/D) - a 'down down up down' ryhthm, which continues into the
verse. I like to start on the bottom strings then throw in a few top strings as we get
into the intro..
VERSE 1
(Strumming between F and C5/D)
I've got my head down in my books
(G)
I've been reading all weekend,
(Back to G and C5/D)
But I don't learn anything
Because my mind is full of emptiness,
(G) (Back to F and C5/D)
I've less energy than a stick of celery.
(Dm) (F) (F)
And then you call me up, down in Jericho,
(C7) (Dm) (F) (F)
To see if I'll go for a drink or two
CHORUS 1
(C7) (Dm) (F)
But I don't want you to see,
(F) (C7) (Dm)
What the lonely nights are doing to me,
(F) (F) (C7)
Bit my fingers to the bone,
(Dm) (F)
And I don't want to hear you say,
(F) (C7)
You let what happened anyway
(Dm) (F)
'Cos you don't know anything
BRIDGE / FREAK OUT BIT
It's a bit weird to work out. I think i strumming between (D) and (Dm) for a few bars.
Then hold the (D) for a bar or two longer, then (F), then back to strumming between (F)
and (C5/D)
VERSE 2
(G)
I was a stronger man than you when I loved Delilah,
(Back to G and C5/D)
With her pants on fire
But then she cut my hair and left me here,
(G) (Back to F and C5/D)
With more inertia than a limpet on the shore
(Dm) (F) (F)
When the tide falls so low I feel like letting go,
(C7) (Dm)(F) (F)
Though I should go to my family
CHORUS 2
(C7) (Dm) (F)
But I don't want you to see,
(F) (C7) (Dm)
What the lonely nights are doing to me,
(F) (F) (C7)
Bit my fingers to the bone,
(Dm) (F)
And I don't want to hear you say,
(F) (C7)
You let what happened anyway
(Dm) (F) (F) (C7)
'Cos you don't know anything
(Dm) (F)
And I don't want to hear you say,
(F) (C7)
You let what happened anyway
(Dm) (F) (F) (Let ring)
'Cos you don't know anything
