The District Sleeps Alone Chords

(ver. 1)
Postal Service
CAPO 3
As predicted, chords are relevant to the capo.
The chords are broken up into lines to be played above the lyrics as a whole themselves.
You'll see what I mean.
It's actually based off of the Frank Turner version. It's more accurate to the PS's
original, however you'll hear loyalties to Turner in the chords. I attempted to blend them.
You'll see lyrically I followed Turner's version too. Let me know how I did!

C, Csus4, Am, Am
Smeared black ink
your palms are sweaty
And I'm barely listening to
last demands
I'm staring at the asphalt wondering what's buried underneath

F, Am, C
Where I am
Where I am

C, Csus4, Am, Am
I'll wear my badge...
a vinyl sticker with big block letters adherent to my chest
That tells your new friends
I am a visitor here, I am not permanent
And the only thing keeping me dry is

F, C, G, G
You seem so out of context in this gaudy apartment complex
A stranger with your door key explaining that I am just visiting
And I am finally seeing
Why I was the one worth leaving
Why I was the one worth leaving

F, C, G, G
The district sleeps alone tonight after the bars turn out their lights
And send the autos swerving into the loneliest evening
And I am finally seeing
Why I was the one worth leaving
Why I was the one worth leaving
Why I was the one worth leaving
Why I was the one worth leaving
