Boyz In The Hood Ukulele

(ver. 1)
Dynamite Hack
Boys in the ?Hood - Dynamite Hack cover of NWA (ice cube/easy-e/Dr. Dre)

NOTE: The Dynamite Hack version is finger-picked, and well,
they also have 2 guitar players. So, this is a version arranged for
one guitar player to sing and play. Also, this arrangement is made
for "humans." In other words, the walking base line is preserved
with a flat-picking style. The lyrics are taken from the Dynamite
things up for one guitar player. The suggested rhythm and chord
charts are listed below. Don't be scared of the "weird" chord names.
I have written it this way to emphasize the walking base line.
I hope this version helps some people to play it live. --kidguitar

With my mack 10, on the side of my hip

And just as I thought, the fools kept steppin'
I jumped in the fro', hit the juice on my ride
I got front and back. side to side

Then I let the Alpine play
I was pumpin' new sh*t by NWA
It was gangsta gangsta at the top of the list

VERSE 5 (use chorus chords for this verse only)
Crusin' down the street in my six fo'
Jockin' the b**ches, slappin' the ho's

Knuckleheads out there, cold shootin' some hoop

Come talkin' that trash, and we'll pull your card
                   F#m7/C# Bm7/D
Knowin' nothin' in life, but to be legit

CHORD PLAYING TIPS:
When transitioning from the A to the F#m7/C#, don't just add your
ring finger onto the A, instead, bar all the strings. Then when you
have to play the Bm7/D, your first finger is already barred and does
not have to move.

When you play the Bm7/D, if the "G" string is a bit muted, that's o.k.,
the other notes do the work of the chord.

RHYTHM:
The chords are played softly and can be slopped together for effect.
For the verse chords, hit the lowest note twice then hit the chord
once (all down strokes), with a "shuffle" feel. The exception is
these two chords (A6/F# -- A6/e); for these chords, hit the lowest
note once and strum the chord once. Thus, this rhythm is similar to
the Incubus "Drive" song, where you can hit the base notes while your
fingers take some time to get into position on the chords.

Note: Dynamite Hack does some more intricate work on verse 5.
However, if you use the chorus chords it sounds fine.

Note: The chorus chord progression is just the first 4 chords of the
verse repeated twice.
