Lion's Den - Dry The River

Tuning: Half-Step Down

This song is extremely fun to play, sounds amazing, and is not too difficult to pick up.

Enjoy, fellow DTR fans!

INTRO:

e|---0-------0-----------0---------0---------0-------0-------0-------0-------| x2
B|-----7-------7----/10*---10--------10--------8-------8-------8-------7-----|
G|-------9-------9--/11-------11--------11-------0-------0-------0-------0---|
D|-0-------0---------0-----------0-------------------------------------------|
A|-----------------------------------------9-------9-------9-------9---------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

                     * This part may seem confusing, but basically as you hit
the D note, your fingers slide from the 7th and 9th frets
to the 10th and 11th frets. You can also give it a quick
vibrato after the slide to give it that "Lion's Den" feel.

The verses are exactly the same:

e|---0-------0----------0---------0---------0-------0-------0-------0--------| x3
B|-----7-------7----/10---10--------10--------8-------8-------8-------7------|
G|-------9-------9--/11------11--------11-------0-------0-------0-------0----|
D|-0-------0---------0----------0--------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------9-------9-------9-------9----------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

After every verse, this part comes in:

           Bm G D

e|----------2-------------------3-------------------2---------------2--------|
B|------3-------3-----------3-------3-----------3-------3-------3-------3----|
G|----4---4---4---4-------4---4---4---4-------2---2---2---2---2---2---2---2--|
D|--4-------------------5-------------------0---------------0----------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|----------2-------------------3-------------------2-----2h3p2--------------|
B|------3-------3-----------3-------3-----------3-------3--------------------|
G|----4---4---4---4-------4---4---4---4-------2---2---2----------------------|
D|--4-------------------5-------------------0--------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

The chorus is basically chords, with the same picking pattern as the verse but with an
alternating bassline:

             G7 F#m

e|----10----------10----------------9----------9-----------------------------|
B|-------12----------12---------------10---------10--------------------------|
G|----------11----------11--x2-----------11---------11--x2-------------------|
D|-------------12---------------------------11-------------------------------|
A|-10-----------------------------9------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

              D Bm A
e|----10----------10-----------------7-------7-------------5-------5---------|
B|-------10----------10----------------7-------7-------------5-------5-------|
G|----------11----------11--x2-----------7-------7--x2---------6-------6--x2-|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------12--------------------------9---------------------7-----------|
E|-10------------------------------7---------------------5-------------------|

Back to verses, chorus, and then outro.
The last chorus is played twice, and the outro goes like this:

Bm, A

Then proceed to jam out on G7, F#m, D, Bm

LYRICS:

Verse 1:
Night descended like a blanket on the house
Where I miss you like a limb
I close the curtains, shun the working and
        I put your record on
Chorus:
        oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Verse 2:
I, the lonely tax collector, never had
Such a feeling before you came
        You descended, I amended
And I need it like a hole in the head
Chorus:
        oooooooooooooooooooo
Outro:
YOU TOOK ME TO THE LION'S DEN
I WAITED FOR THE BEAST TO BEGIN

Have fun!
