Peach Plum Pear Tabs

(ver. 1)
Joanna Newsom
A tabbed out version of Peach Plum Pear

The first version is almost exactly what she’s playing except you
lose an octave on bass note on D7sus2-4. To play exactly what
Joanna is playing you’ll need to tune your guitar to DGDGBE (that
version is at the bottom after the chords). I thought more people
would find a standard tuning version useful, so that’s up first.
I tried my best with the chord names.

Here’s how I play this tab as chords when I’m feeling lazy.
I play the low Fadd9 note with my thumb.
Am7=X00213 Fadd9=1X3213 D7sus2=XX0210 D7sus4=XX0213
Gsus4=320013 G=320003

   Am7 Fadd9
We speak in the store. I’m a sensitive bore.
         D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
You seem markedly more. And I'm oozing surprise.
         Am7 Fadd9
But it's late in the day. And you're well on your way.
         D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
What was golden went gray. And I'm suddenly shy.

        Am7 Fadd9
And the gatherin' floozies afford to be choosy.
    D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
And all sneezing darkly in the dimming divide.
           Am7 Fadd9
And I have read the right books to interpret your looks.
         D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
You were knocking me down with the palm of your eye.

    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
oh, nananana nanananana na na na na

         Am7 Fadd9
This was unlike the story it was written to be.
      D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
I was riding its back when it used to ride me.
            Am7 Fadd9
And we were galloping manic to the mouth of the source.
        D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
We were swallowing panic from the face of its force.

    Am7 D7sus2-4 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
And I am blue I am
    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
blue and unwell made me bolt like a horse

    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
oh, nananana nanananana na na na na

    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
Now it's done. Watch it go. You've
    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
changed some. Water runs from the snow.
    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
Am I so dear? Do I run rare? And you've
    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G
changed some Peach plum pear Peach plum

    Am7 Fadd9 D7sus2-4 Gsus4 G

The only way I can think to play this on guitar is to
your open strings to DGDGBE (tune E and A down a step)

Then, with a capo on 4, you play this

Am7 Fadd9
-3---3---3---3---3---3---3---3--3---3---3---3---3---3---3---3-|

--------------------------------3-----------3-----------3-----|
