Lost Tabs

(ver. 1)
Coldplay
TITLE : Lost
WRITTEN BY : ?
PERFORMED BY : COLDPLAY
ALBUM : Viva La Difference ?-)

INTERPRETED BY: Monsty :)

Hmm ... It's debatable whether the "G" is a "Bm" in the verses.
        - Personally I like the "Bm" better in some places.
I'm tempted to play it all thru the verses instead of
          the "G" chord. - KISS
I do, however, concede to those with a "keener ear",
that it might indeed be the chord of "G" on the record !
	  - Try the "Bm" though, I think you'll like it :)

N.B. [...] = alternative chord

INTRO : (Em, C, G[Bm], D ) x 2
-----

VERSE-1 :
-------
Em C G D Em C G
Just because I'm losing, ^ doesn't mean I'm lost ^ ^

	D Em C Bm[G] D Em C Bm[G] D
Doesn't mean I'll stop, ^ ^ it doesn't mean that I will cross ^ ^ ^

VERSE-2 :
-------
Em C G D Em C G
Just because I'm hurting, ^ doesn't mean I'm hurt ^ ^

	D	      Em       C    Bm[G]     D		    Em	  C Bm[G]<=
Doesn't mean I didn't get what I de-serve, no better and no worse ^ ^ ^

CHORUS-1 :
--------
           D

		   C G D
Every river that I tried to cross
                  C G D
Every door I ever tried was locked

CHORUS-Riff :
-----------

	E|--------7------------5--|

           D	       Em            C	      Bm[G]  D      Em  C Bm[G]<=
It doesn't mean you've won, 'cause a-long may come a bigger one ^ ^ ^

CHORUS-2 :
--------
              D

        C G D
Oh, and I'm just waiting till the firing starts
        C G D
Oh, and I'm just waiting till the shine wears off

Guitar Break : Notice the switch of sequence between Bm and D
------------ - I don't really think it's necessary, but ...

( Em, C, Bm, D )

E|---------------10-12-12-12-\-------7-H10-10-10-----------|
B|---3-/-5-5-5-/---------------8\777-------------7\--------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------|

( Em, C, D, Bm )

E|---------------10-12-12-12-\-------7-H10-10-10-----------|
B|------5-5-5-/----------------8\777-------------7\--------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------|

( Em, C, Bm, D )

E|---------------10-12-12-12-\-------7-H10-10-10-----------|
B|------5-5-5-/----------------8\777-------------7\--------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------|

( Em, C, D, Bm )

N.B. Only 1 stike of the 10th fret ----. on this last one.
                                       V
E|---------------10-12-12-12-\-------7-H10-----------------|
B|------5-5-5-/----------------8\777-----------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------|

An alternative way to play this Guitar Break is to use the
           ----------- ------------
2nd string ONLY and slide the notes up & down.
This is perhaps not so easy on an acoustic guitar where the
neck usually meets the body at the 14th fret.
But is quite effective on an electric guitar. N.B. P = Pull-Off
	- I'm sure you can think of other alternatives :)
BTW from the 5th to the 15th is a big slide
        - remember to hit the breaks !!!

1st time only

	   V V |
	E|------------------------------------------------------------|
	B|-3-/-5-5-5-/-15-H17-17-17-\-8-P-7-7-7-/-12-H15-15-15-\-7-\--|
	G|------------------------------------------------------------|
	D|------------------------------------------^-----------------|

                                                    |
                                                    .__ 4th time stop here

N.B. - Play CHORUS-Riff over the whole of the following Part-CHORUS.

Part-CHORUS :
-----------

        C G D
Oh, and I'm just waiting till the shine wears off
        C G D
Oh, and I'm just waiting till the shine wears off

( C, G, D ) x 2

OUTPLAY :
-------
Play the following chord sequence :
N.B. - On the record it's only the keyboard that plays this part.

Em, C, Bm, D
Em, C, Bm
Em, C, Bm, D
Em, C, Bm ... fade

OK - I've waffled on enough !-)

     - you can go on forever refining these songs ...

... As they say these days ... enjoy !-)
