                Bon Jovi – Real Life

Alright, well the recording I’ve got of this sounds to be tuned between E and Eb, which just makes things difficult, but it does work. The first chord is a D, so tune your guitar’s D string down to the D on that first chord of the recording.

Intro:
-----------------2------2-------------2-----2-------
-----------------3------3-------------3-----3-------
-----------------2------2-------------2-----2-------
-----------------0------0-------------0-----0-------
------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------

      A E F#m D
----2---/--4---/---6---/--4-------------------- 2--/---4--/-- 6-- /---4---------------------
--------------------------------------2----4b----------------------------------------------
----0------2---/---4---/--2---------------------0----- 2--/-- 4--/---2---------------------
----------------------------------0----------------------------------------------------------

Verse: |: A | E | F#m | D :|

I wish life was like it is in the movies
Cos’ the hero always gets his way
No matter how hard it gets on that dark lonely road
At the end, he’s got a smile on his face

But when they threw me out to the lions

	            A E
---------------------------0----------------------------------------0------------
---------------------------0----------------------------------------0------------
-----------------------2---------------------------------------------------------
---------------------2-----------------------------------------2----------------
-------------------0-----------------------------------------2------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------0-------------------

No one saved me as I fell from your grace

	F#/G D

--------------------3-------------------------------------------2----
--------------------3-----------------------------------------3------
------------------------------------------------------------2-------
-----------------0---------------------------------------0---------
---------------0---------------------------------------------------
-------------2-----------------------------------------------------

And no one wrote me new lines of what I said wrong

	            A E
---------------------------0----------------------------------------0------------
---------------------------0----------------------------------------0------------
-----------------------2---------------------------------------------------------
---------------------2-----------------------------------------2----------------
-------------------0-----------------------------------------2------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------0-------------------

And what I did wrong I could not erase

F#/G D

Chorus –the same as the intro, with vocals.

              A E
This is real life, this is real love
         F#/G D
This is real pain, that much I’m sure of
	A E	D
This are real tears, this is real fear inside
             E
That I can’t hide

| D | D | - On the link between the chorus and the verse here, it sounds like Richie is using a
whammy bar or pedal over the chord, but it sounds like he’s playing a ‘D’ chord.

Verse
            A E
I wish I could be your white night in armour
	 F#/G D
With an honour just to bring you back home
	A E
But I’ll admit I’m scared of dialing your number

------5----5-----5-----5-----5-----5-----5-----5-----4----4----4----4----4----4----4----4---------
------3----3-----3-----3-----3-----3-----3-----3-----3----3----3----3----3----3----3----3---------
	           F#/G D
Cos’ someone else is gonna answer the phone

  A E
Why can’t it be like it is on TV?

When New York gets too plain and you come back to me

This is real life, this is real love
         F#/G D
This is real pain, that much I’m sure of
	A E	D
This are real tears, this is real fear inside
             E
That I can’t hide
            A E
This is real life, this is real love
          F#/G D
These are real wounds I’m bleedin’ from
          Bm E
And I realise this is real

Bridge
G Bm
I always thought that our love
             D A
Was a story for two
E F#/G G
