Stay Home Tabs

(ver. 3)
American Football

1) PART ONE : from 0:00 to 2:57.
This sequence may seem easy, but in fact it's quite hard to know how many times you have to play each part.
That's why I put the exact number of times you must play each one.
And IMPORTANT : why Steve's part is regular 7/4, Mike's one is quite irregular, so don't bother counting
in your head, and just learn how many times you have to play each segment.

               *4 *3 *3 *1
f|-----------0-------------0-------------0-------------0---------------------|
C|-----4-------------4-------------4-------------4---------------------------|
A|--------0-------------0-------------3-------------0------------------------|
D|--3-------------0----------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------3-------------3------------------------------|
F|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

               *3 *3 *1 *3
f|-----------0-------------0-------------0-------------0---------------------|
C|-----4-------------4-------------4-------------4---------------------------|
A|--------0-------------0-------------3-------------3------------------------|
D|--3-------------0-------------0--------------------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------------3------------------------------|
F|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

You have to repeat this whole part 8 times. At the 9th time (just before the distorted
chord) it is shortened :

               *4 *3
f|-----------0-------------0-------------------------------------------------|
C|-----4-------------4-------------------------------------------------------|
A|--------0-------------0----------------------------------------------------|
D|--3-------------0----------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

2) PART TWO : from 2:57 to 3:04
This chord lasts for 2 bars of 7/4.

f|--0------------------------------------------------------------------------|
C|--0------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--0------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--3------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--1------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

3) PART THREE : from 3:04 to 5:58
There are two options for this part. I prefer the first one but I'll put the other too.
This sequence is 3 bars long. Repeat the whole thing 16 times.
The 17th time, only hit the low F.

First option :

f|-----------------0-----0-----0-----0-----0--0------------------------------|
C|--------------0-----4-----2-----0-----------0------------------------------|
A|-----0-----0--------------------------1-----0------------------------------|
D|--------5-----------------------------------3------------------------------|
A|--3-----------------------------------------1------------------------------|
F|--0------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Second option :

f|-----------------0-----0-----0-----0-----0--0------------------------------|
C|--------------0-----------------------------0------------------------------|
A|-----0-----0--------7-----5-----3-----1-----0------------------------------|
D|--------5-----------------------------------3------------------------------|
A|--3-----------------------------------------1------------------------------|
F|--0------------------------------------------------------------------------|

4) PART FOUR : from 5:58 to 6:42
This sequence is 6 bars long. You have to play it twice.

f|--0------------------------------------------0-----------------------------|
C|--0---------------------------0--------------0-----------------------------|
A|--0---------------0--------------------------0-----------------------------|
D|--7---------------5------5---------3---------3-----------------------------|
A|--5---------------3--------------------------1-----------------------------|
F|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

5) PART FIVE : from 5:58 until the end

f|-------------------7-----------------------7-------------------------------|
C|--9------9------9---------9------9------9----------------------------------|
A|-----10-----10--------10-----10-----10--------10---------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

STEVE'S GUITAR
-------------

Steve's part I tabbed myself, also referencing live videos (specifically
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXt1hSGXxag, which is tuned a half step down).
The liner notes on the self-titled deluxe edition include tunings for all the songs; the one listed there
is the proper tuning for Steve's but not Mike's part.

Tuning: FACGCE

1) PART ONE : from 0:00 to 2:57.
This part is a little easier timing-wise than Mike's but still rather tricky. It's in straight 7/4 time.
The beat within each bar is indicated above the tab. As far as fingering goes, for the first and third
bars I find it easiest to put my index finger on the A, middle on the G, and pinky on the B (C in this
tuning) strings, and for the second I bar the 5th fret with my index and use my ring for anything else.

Structurally, the three bars just repeat, so in effect you're playing the first bar once, the second bar
once, and the first bar twice followed by the second bar once for the remainder.

The first and third bars are both as follows.

   1 2 3 4 5 6 7
E|-------0-----------0--------0-----------0--------------------------------|
C|-------------12-------------------12-------------------------------------|
G|----------10----10-------------10----10----------------------------------|
C|----0--------------------0-----------------------------------------------|
A|-10-------------------10-------------------------------------------------|
F|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|

The second bar is a little easier.

   1 2 3 4 5 6 7
E|-------5-----------5-----------5-----------------------------------------|
C|-------------7--------5-----5h7---7--------------------------------------|
G|----------5-----5-----------=--------5-----------------------------------|
C|----5--------------------5--------------0--------------------------------|
A|-5-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|

2) PART TWO : from 2:57 to 5:03

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7
E|--------0-----------0--------0-----------0------------------------------| x 2
C|--------------5--------------------5-----------=------------------------|
G|-----5-----5-----5--------5-----5-----5---------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|--5--------------------5------------------------------------------------|

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7
E|--------0-----------0--------0-----------0------------------------------|
C|--------------5--------------------5-----------=------------------------|
G|-----5-----5-----5--------5-----5-----5---------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|--0--------------------0------------------------------------------------|

At some points it sounds like he's playing the E and C strings (open and 5th fret respectively) together.
This usually occurs where the open E is tabbed, but I'm not sure if it's deliberate. It's more prominent
in the live recordings. At its most consistent, it looks like this.

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7
E|--------0-----------0--------0-----------0------------------------------| x 2
C|--------------5-----5--------------5-----5-----=------------------------|
G|-----5-----5-----5--------5-----5-----5---------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|--5--------------------5------------------------------------------------|

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7
E|--------0-----------0--------0-----------0------------------------------|
C|--------------5-----5--------------5-----5-----=------------------------|
G|-----5-----5-----5--------5-----5-----5---------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|--0--------------------0------------------------------------------------|

3) PART THREE from 5:03 to end

The shift into this part is pretty sudden and easy to miss as it blends into the back. The strum pattern
again remains very similar to parts past. This riff continues through the end.

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7
E|-----------------0-----------------3------------------------------------|
C|--5-----5-----5--------5-----5--------5--=------------------------------|
G|-----5-----5--------5-----5-----5--------5------------------------------|
C|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
F|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
