Listen To The Math Ukulele

(ver. 1)
Tokyo Police Club

Standard Tuning

I wanted to play this song acoustically so I came up with this to kind of mix the
bass and guitar together and I think it sounds
pretty decent. Works best if you have another guitar to play the little lead part
during the chorus.

Just as a heads-up, this is how I play the chords but you can do it any other way
(this just sounds best to me):

    A C#m Abm B E Eb/B
e|--0-------4---0---0---0------|
B|--0---5---4---0---0---0------|
G|--6---6---4---8---9---8------|
D|--7---6---6---9---9---9------|
A|--7---4---6---9---7---6------|
E|--5-------4---7---0----------|

A C#m
You've been famous since your birth
                    Abm
And a silent one it was,
                         B
Till they told me it's a girl
              A
And everybody gasped
                        C#m
I know how to raise you right
                 Abm
Teach you how to read
                                    B
Do math, share toys spell names and alphabet
              A C#m Abm B
And how to be polite

A C#m
You've been famous since your birth
                    Abm
And a silent one it was,
                         B
Till they told me it's a girl
              A
And everybody said
                           C#m
You and your atlas know it all
                Abm
Let the corners curl
                   B
Cause if you go by night
                         E
You'll hit the coast for sure

------------------------------------------
...Verse goes straight into chorus on E
------------------------------------------
Chorus

E Eb/B Abm
It's a ruse, it's a laugh
                 B
Experts, they'd agree
B
Listen to the math
E Eb/B Abm
Australopithecine
              B
Rekindle your heart
B
These hospital machines
                        A C#m Abm B
Are state of the art

e-----7---------7---------7---------7-------|
B-------9---------9---------9---------9-----| --> second guitar plays this through out the chorus
G---9-----9---8-----8---9-----9---8-----8---|
D-------------------------------------------|
A-------------------------------------------|
E-------------------------------------------|

Then:

e|-------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------|
G|--11111111-11-13-13--8-88------------------| x4
D|---x-x-x-x--x--x--x--x-xx------------------|
A|---9-9-9-9--9/11-11-\6-66------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------|

A C#m
I've put down my middle name
                   Abm
In the back of her book
                      B
And signed it just in case
                  A
Our walk was over love
                              C#m
Cause I've got one more up my sleeve
             Abm
Bring it out tonight
                  B
Cause if I am the joke
                          E
Then you're the punchline

------------------
-Into Chorus
------------------

Then:

A C#m Abm B x2

e|-------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------|
G|--11111111-11/13-13-\8-88------------------| x7
D|---x-x-x-x--x--x--x--x-xx------------------|
A|---9-9-9-9--9/11-11-\6-66------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------|

and on the last time:
                                  | End on: (on the same beat as the B chord below)
e|--------------------------------|------------|
B|--------------------------------|------------|
G|--16-16-16-16--16\14-14-14-1414-|-\13--------|
D|---x--x--x--x---x--x--x--x--x-x-|---x--------|
A|--14-14-14-14--14\12-12-12-1212-|-\11--------|
E|--------------------------------|------------|

End on:
             B
But it's the art of the state
That's gonna keep me awake
         E
I need a second opinion
Not a second to waste
