Burden Of Tomorrow Ukulele

(ver. 1)
The Tallest Man On Earth

I totally agree that this is the best song on the album. Maybe one day someone will
post it with drop tuning, but this is standard tuning.

(To make fingerwork easier: put capo on second fret to make it an F# chord but with an E
fingering. Get it? In which case you'd be fingering E, A, E, A B, c#m, A, B... for
the beginning of the verse)

**Note: When playing the final chord of the chorus, I believe the artist's tuning
creates a B chord with a Major 7th added, or Major B7 chord (not a dominant 7, which instead
would add a minor 7th). At this moment, either a B, a Major B7, or an a# minor chord
sound pretty good to me.

(( Intro ))

F#, B, F# F#
F#, B
F# B F# B
F B C# C#

   F# B F#
Oh I was sent to find the lonesome place
               B C#
Where I was lost but left to trace
          D#m B C#
By carving riddles on the lonesome vine
   F# B F#
Oh but rumor has it that I wasn't born
                B C#
I just walked in one frosty morn
         D#m B C#
Into the vision of some vacant mind

   B C# F# B **(optional: add 7, I think it's heard in Matsson's tuning.)
Oh once I held a pony by its flagging mane
       B C# F# B
And once I called the shadow in the turning game
      D#m C# B C#
But I will fight this stranger that you should fear
      D#m C# B F#
So I won't be a burden of tomorrow dear

(( Interlude or something. ))
F#, B, F#, B

   F# B F#
Aww Xavier's on the border of the sun
          B C#
Swings on the chambers of your guns
             D#m B C#
And tries to shoot the chord and light the path
   F# B F#
Aww but hell I'm just a blind man on the plains
          B C#
I drink my water when it rains
        D#m B C#
And live by chance among the lightning strikes

    B C# F# B
Oh once I held a glacier to an open flame
       B C# F# B
And once I felt like wildcat in the fallen game
      D#m C# B C#
But I will fight this stranger that you should fear
      D#m C# B F#
So I won't be a burden of tomorrow dear

F#, B, F# F#
F#, B

   B C# F# B
Oh the singer's on the edge to feed the canyon's mouth
   B C# F# D#m
They will go on forever til they sing you out of time
     D#m C# B C#
But I will fight this stranger that you should fear
     D#m C# B F#
So I won't be a burden of tomorrow dear
