King Of The World Chords

(ver. 1)
Point Of Grace
This is the detuned version, easier for most players. The song can also be played
in standard tuning, Capo 2, key of E, but putting the bass notes in the E chord is
harder (especially the E/Ab, equivalent to G/B in this version - 4th fret low E,
and you have to play it with your pinky). I'll have that version up shortly. If
you're not playing along with the album track, just play this in standard an
you'll be fine. Have fun!

King of the World

Intro: G G/A G/B C G G/A G/B C2

[Verse 1:]
G G/A G/B C
Spinning around on the tops of his feet,
G G/A G/B C
Smiles of the angels could not be so sweet.
D Em G/B C
Wide blue eyes and piggy tail swirls
Am7 G/B C2
She’s her daddy's girl.

[Verse 2:]
       G G/A G/B C
‘Cause he knows the jokes that always make her laugh
G G/A G/B C
Takes her for ice cream instead of her nap.
       D Em G/B C
At the end of the day by the light of the moon,
     Am7 Dsus4 D
They turn up the music in their living room, and she yells

[Chorus:]
G/B C D Em G/B C D Em
Dance me, dance me around, ‘till my feet don’t ever touch down!
       Am7 G/B C D
‘Cause there’s nothing better than being your girl,
       Am7 G/B C
And if I am your princess, then daddy,
Dsus4 D G G/A G/B C
You are the king of the world.

G G/A G/B C

[Verse 3:]
    G G/A G/B C
It’s funny how life moves in circles of time
   G G/A G/B C
To think not so long ago that face was mine
D Em G/B C
Houses get smaller, we take different names
    Am7 Dsus4 D
But some things in life stay the same.

[Chorus]

[Bridge:]
G Bb Am G
Some day she’ll go off and find a life of her own,
    G C D G
And marry a good man and make a happy home.
          Bb C
Until she comes back and sees with those same eyes
     Am Dsus4 D
What time cannot disguise...

[Verse 4:]
    G G/A G/B C
She walks through the door with that look on her face,
        G G/A G/B C
‘Cause daddy's brown hair has all turned to gray.
D Em G/B C
They talk for hours, they cry and they laugh,
D Em G/B C
watchin’ old movies and thinkin’ back.
Am7 G/B C
Just as she turns to go,
           Am7 Dsus4 D
She says, “Hey Dad, how ‘bout one for the road?”

G/B C D Em G/B C D Em
Dance me, dance me around till my feet don't ever touch...
Em D/F#
Down!

[Final Chorus:]

G/B C D Em G/B C D Em
Dance me, dance me around, ‘till my feet don’t ever touch down!
       Am7 G/B C D
‘Cause There’s nothing better than being your girl,
       Am7 G/B C D
Oh no, there’s nothing better than being your girl,
       Am7 G/B C Dsus4
And if I am your princess, then daddy, (extra measure)
D G G/A G/B
You are the king of the world,
C G G/A G/B C
king of... the world.
