The Flames Beyond The Cold Mountain Tabs

(ver. 1)
Mono
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuning: Standard (EADGBE)

Not really many tabs for Mono across the web, least of all for this incredible song.
out by listening to the song, but the shift in the tremelo picking should be obvious
comments and so forth. Have fun!

Note that I'm only tabbing out of the guitar parts, but the other usually just
this one in the same key, with light tremelo - experiment and just go with what works
you.

Lead Guitar 1 (3:25 onwards): Fairly simple, use a little delay if you'd like, but not necessary.

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------9-------------8--------------------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------------------10---------8-6-5---------------------|
D|---10------------10------------10------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------11-------------9------9-11-8-------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------8---8-------------------------|
D|---11-------------11-------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|---------------------------------------11----------------------------------|
B|----------13-------------14---------------------------13-------------------|
G|---13-------------13------------13-------------13--------------------12----|
D|--------------------------------------------------------------13-----------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------11------------------------------------------------------------|
G|----------13---------------------12-----13-----10---10---10---10---10------------------|
D|---13-------------13-------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Play that last '10' thirty times or so, and then the entire thing repeats itself twice
starting at 4:16. There's a little more sliding obvious this time.

At 6:02, the background tremelo picking becomes more prominent, and from here until the
of the song, these are the various sections that are used. I use single notes for
but you obviously play them numerous times:

e|-----------|-----------|-----------|
B|-----------|-----------|-----------|
G|-----------|-----------|-----------|
D|-----6-----|-----5-----|-----3-----|
A|-----8-----|-----6-----|-----5-----|
E|-----------|-----------|-----------|

A slight variation on the above is also used:

e|-----------|-----------|-----------|
B|-----------|-----------|-----------|
G|-----------|-----------|-----------|
D|-----6-----|-----8-----|-----3-----|
A|-----8-----|-----6-----|-----5-----|
E|-----------|-----------|-----------|

After those are used a few times each, it changes to (6:34):

e|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|----------|
B|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|----------|
G|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|----------|
D|-----6-----|-----8-----|-----10----|-----6----|-----8----|-----11---|-----10---|
A|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|----------|
E|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|----------|

That is played twice. And then...(7:05):

e|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
B|-----9-----|-----8-----|-----6-----|-----9----|-----8----|-----11---|------8------|
G|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
D|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
A|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
E|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|

Slight variation follows:

e|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
B|-----9-----|-----8-----|-----6-----|-----9----|-----11---|----13----|------11-----|
G|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
D|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
A|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|
E|-----------|-----------|-----------|----------|----------|----------|-------------|

===============================================================================

Tremelo picking continues until the end, the order varies but most of it is based off
uses) the above sections during the tremelo picking in the latter half. This song sounds
better with two guitars if you can figure it out early in the song. I used the CD
for the exact timings. Enjoy!
