Sky Pup Bass

(ver. 1)
Melvins
What a cool song.... the bass line sounds really great, and it's
not too difficult to play...

I have to admit I didn't made it out all by myself, I had a
little help from my teacher, Mark Hebert.

Intro
G|----------------|---------------------|---------------|
D|.---------------|--------------------.|---------------|
A|.---------------|--------------------.|---------------|
E|--3-3-4-333-4-3-|-2--2-3-2-2-222-3-2--|-0-------------|

Repeat the first two bars four times, then on the fifth time,
skip the second bar to play an open G instead.

Riff 1
G|---------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----7---7-5-----------------------------------------3---|
A|-------------7-6---5---4-5-4----------------2-3-4-5-5-5--|
E|-5---------------------------5-4-3---3-xx23--------------|

Riff 2
G|----------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----7-5------------------------------------------5-4-----|
A|---------7-6-5-4---5-4----------------------2-3-4-----5-4-|
E|-5---------------------5-4-5-4-5-3---3-xx23---------------|
Bend the last note a little

Riff 3
G|--------------------7-9-77-9-7--------------------------------|
D|-----7-5---5-7-9---------------9-8----------------------3-----|
A|---------7------------------------------------2--3--4--5-5----|
E|-5---------------------------------3-3-xx23----------------5--|

Then, you play Riff 2 again to complete the cycle.

Bridge 1
G|---------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------|
A|----7-----7-----7-----7-----77---|
E|-0----000---000---000---000------|

Bridge 2
G|---------------------------------|
D|-------------------------5-------|
A|-----7----------5--6--7-----7----|
E|-0-------5-6-7-------------------|

Bridge 3
G|---------------------------------|
D|------------------------x5-------|
A|-----7---------x5-x6-x7-----7----|
E|-0------x5-6-7-------------------|

This riff sounds so good when done right. It's probably
the hardest riff of the song, but you can easily replace it
with Bridge 2 if you really can't play it.
