However it's easier to capo it at the 4th fret and play A E F#m.

It requires a little bit of a pinkie manoeuvre.
To move from the E to E6 strum twice on E then once on E6 and then once more on E - all in quick succession.
Something similar to this is required on the A to Asus4 movement on the first "oh yoko".
