Beware Ukulele

(ver. 1)
Joshua James
Tuned half a step down in the version on the Beware EP. The live versions I've seen is
half a step down again, but played in standard with a capo on the 5th fret with the
chords indicated in parentheses (so if you don't fancy retuning, a capo on the 6th and
the chords in parentheses will match the key of the EP version).

Chords:

G: 32003X (C: 332010)
C:32010X (F: 133210)
D:XX023X (G: 320010)
Em: 02200X (Am:X02210)

Verse 1:

G D G
Well I lived in that town till I was 17
       C G
When I Moved to the mountains that rose from the sea
       C G Em
Where they taught me to pray each and every day
       G D G
Said if I didn't, the devil, he would take me

Verse 2:

And so I threw my hands up and I spoke to the lord
I said I'm a sinner an apocrphyal poet
Seems that God wasn't near for no words did I hear
Could it be I was talkin' to no one

Chorus:
         C
Please beware
                           G
In a mysterious way, God is here
        C
Please beware
                                 G
He's your pity, your pain, he's your fear
 C D G Em
Please remember my son, what I've taught you ain't much
      G D G
It is God who will take you from here

Well I cannot deny that the Lord might exist
But he ain't the problem to answers we missed
Just don't base your whole life off of one bad disguise
You never know behind which he's looking

And if it is comfort or peace, in religion you seek
And it makes you feel whole then it worked, don't ya think
You can argue and scream, paint each other obsence
But I have recently known, that it don't matter

Please beware
In a mysterious way, God is here
Please beware
He's your pity, your pain, he's your fear
Please remember my son, what I've taught you ain't much
It is God who will take you from here
