Day By Day Chords

(ver. 1)
Hymn
Verse 1:
       Eb                         Ab
Day by day, and with each passing moment,
           Bb                     Eb
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
                                Ab
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
         Bb                     Eb
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
           G                       Ab
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
        F                          Eb
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
                               Ab
Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
          Bb                   Eb
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Verse 2:
      Eb                       Ab
Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
       Bb                      Eb
With a special mercy for each hour;
                                     Ab
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
         Bb                     Eb
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow'r.
        G                       Ab
The protection of His child and treasure
     F                         Eb
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
                                       Ab
'As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,'
         Bb              Eb
This the pledge to me He made.

Verse 3:
         Eb                 Ab
Help me then, in every tribulation,
      Bb                    Eb
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
                                   Ab
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation,
        Bb                  Eb
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
         G                           Ab
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
        F                        Eb
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
                                  Ab
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
       Bb                 Eb
Till I reach the Promised land.
