COUNTING BLUE CARS

Intro : Bm - A - G (x 2, leave hi 'e' open for these chords)

Bm A G
Must have been, Mid afternoon.
Bm A G
I could tell, by how far,
(stay on G)
the child's shadow stretched out and.
Bm A G
He, walked with a purpose,
(stay on G)
In his sneakers, Down the street he had.
Bm A G (quiet)
Ma-ny questions, Like children often do.

        (still no chord)
	He said,
         D E G
"Tell me all your thoughts on God"
         D E G Bm
"Tell me am I very far?"

Bm A G
Must have been, Late afternoon.
Bm A G
On our way, The sun broke free of the clouds.
Bm A G
We, count only blue cars,
(stay on G)
Skip the cracks, In the street and ask,
Bm A G (quiet)
Ma-ny questions, Like children often do

	(no chord)
	We said,
        D E G ....
"Tell me all your thoughts on God
'Cuz I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God,
Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very, far
	Am I very far now ? "

	( guitar solo over the D - E - G chorus progression)

It's getting cold, Picked up the pace.
How our shoes, Make hard noises in this place.
Our, clothes are stained,
We pass many, Cross-eyed people and ask,
Ma-ny questions, Like children often do.

"Tell me all your thoughts on God ?
'Cuz I would really like to meet her.
And ask her why we're who we are.
Tell me all your thoughts on God ?
'Cause I am on my way to see her.
So tell me am I very, far ?
Am I very far now ?, Am I very far now ?,
Am I very far now ?

I received a few e-mails over my submission of Counting Blue Cars. Here
is what I responded. This should clarify a few things.

I play the Bm-A-G progression in one of 2 ways. (I usually further
enhance the A by playing Asus2)

Bm with open high 'e' (This certainly has several real names but I'm
self taught and don't need to deal with them. OLGA is great but it is
not GUITAR magazine).

0	Or	0
3 0
4 7
4 9
x 9
x x

The A (high open 'e')

0	Or 0	Or Asus2	0
2 5 0
2 6 2
2 7 2
0 7 0

The G (high 'e')

0

4
5

x

Playing the tune this way sounds a lot closer to the recording.
