We Let Her Down Tabs

(ver. 1)
Chris Isaak
We Let Her Down (From the album "Mr. Lucky")
--------------------------------------

Tuning: Standard

heard on "Silvertone" and some of the earlier recordings. In concert is
looks as if Chris is playing a muted version of the open chords in this
song, with Hershel as usual playing the accent notes, fills and riffs.
Though in the studio version I wouldn't be surprised to find a third guitar
layered in the mix as well.

This entire song is built around the Am-F-C-G chord progression and most of
the fills and the solo follow the same routes as Riff 1 which is the intro
riff in the song. Hershel adds in a few notes in later versions which you
can easily pick up on.

Verse 1:
Am F C G
Her father, and her mother. Never showed her any affection at all.
Am F C G
I wonder, if it hurts her now? Now that its too late they call.
Am-F-C-G (Riff 1)
We let her down. Its true.
Am-F-C-G (Riff 2)
We let her down. Its true.

Verse 2:
Am F C G
I told her, I'd be there. Its easy to say what you want to believe.
Am F C G
I told her, I'd love her. Now that its too late I see.
Am-F-C-G (Riff 1)
I let her down. Its true.
Am-F-C-G (Riff 1)
I let her down.

Guitar Solo: Am-F-C-G

Refrain:
Am-F-C-G (Riff 1)
Let her down.
Am-F-C-G (Riff 1)
Let her down. We let her down.

Verse 3:
Am F C G
So helpless, pretending. Hoping that somehow somebody would see.
Am F C G
So desperate, for someone. I guess that she thought that someone was me.
Am-F-C-G
I let her down. Its true.
Am-F-C-G
I let her down.
Am-F-C-G
I let her down.

Piano Break:
Am F C G Am
Look at her, look through her eyes. Closer to her than the pain.
           F C G Am
I hope now, she's somewhere. Where they'll never hurt her again.
