Now you can either play the melody again, or head to a solo in the
key of F.

You can find these notes all over the guitar. As long as you
play these notes, you can solo. You need to learn pentatonic
scales first, then more lateral/horizontal scales.
The solos can be played on anything - piano, guitar, saxophone,
trumpet, etc.

Solo chords (mainly for two guitarists or a band; one plays chords
while the other solos over them):

If there is one chord above the measure, it means that chord
is played 4 times or held the entire measure; if the measure
has two chords above it, then each chord receives half the
measure. 
Note: The chords are not maj7, but dom7, dim, and min7.

dom7 -> 1 3 5 b7
min7 -> 1 b3 5 b7
(b in front of number means flat)
