If The Brakeman Turns My Way Chords

(ver. 2)
Bright Eyes

If the Brakeman Turns My Way - Bright Eyes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuning: Standard
Capo: 4th

>>> This song is played on a piano which is more flexible in the chord
building department than a guitar is. Therefore to get the best harmony
to go under the melody different inversions of the chord are needed.
These are explained below. Also try and strum more to the lower notes,
seems to work better.

Chords used relative to capo on 4th....

.....G......C.....D/F#....Em.....D.....Am....
e|-------------------------------2------0---|
B|---3------1------3------0------3------1---|
G|---0------0------2------0------2------2---|
D|---0------2------0------2------0------2---|
A|---2------3------0------2------0------0---|
E|---3------0------2------0-------------0---|

NOTE: Inversions...

>>>The D/F# and D chords contain the same notes, the D/F# chord has a 3rd
on the low E string as oppose to the D chord which has a 3rd on the high E.
So basically the D/F# chord is an inversion of the D chord and so the two
are switchable.

>>>An inversion of the C chord can also sound better at some points.
Instead of leaving the low E string open hold the 3rd fret. (332010)
Its up to you if you use this inversion or not.
