Play Me That Song (capo ) Chords

(ver. 1)
Brantley Gilbert
"(3)
I know there are two other attempts to chart this out here on the site.
At first I thought one of them was correct, but the after playing it a few
times I realized it was wrong too. I like the song, and wanted to be able
to play it, so I sat down today for an hour to try to figure it out. Enjoy!
Oh, I know he's got a few different recordings out there ... this is based
on the key and lyrics from the one you can find on iTunes on the Modern Day
Prodigal Son album.

Note: He hammers on and pulls of in the style of an Eric Church, so if you
just strum through the chords, it won't sound like the recording. Just sayin' ...

Capo 3rd Fret

Intro: D D/C# G/B G A

Verse 1

D D/C# G/B
She's stopping by real late tonight, just to talk
            D D/C# G/B
She said I got some things been weighing on my mind,

And I know I can come there.
D D/C#
We just sit and man we talk a while
       G/B G
She'll spill her heart in these arms of mine.
                A
And then she'll say ...

Chorus

             Bm G
Play me that song, play me that song you wrote
           D A
About the girl who might not ever know,
    Bm G D A
How much you care, or how much you love her.
              Bm G
Play me that song, play me that song again
         D A
Boy I'd like to think there's someone there
Bm G D
Who might love me just like that,
   A Bm G A
So play me that song again.

Verse 2

D D/C# G/B
Wasted time on small town guys, nothing but drama
          D D/C# G/B
There's a trail of tears that leads right to my side,

'Cause I know how to hold her
D D/C# G/B
She knows I don't give a damn about the rumors spread or what's been said
       D D/C# G/B
I just hold on tight until the time is right

And then I …

Chorus

              Bm G
Play her that song, play her that song I wrote
           D A
About the girl who might not ever know,
    Bm G D A
How much I care, or how much I love her.
                Bm G
I Play her that song, play her that song again
             D A
'Cause she'd like to think there's someone there
Bm G D
Who might love her just like that,
     A Bm G A Bm G A
So I play her that song again. Mmmmm

Sit here 'neath the sunrise
                  Bm G A

About the girl who might not ever know,
    Bm G D A
How much I care, or how much I love her.

          D A
I've been hiding this too long from you.
Bm G A
Can't believe you never knew
