Fun And Games Chords

(ver. 1)
Barenaked Ladies
So I've been trying to find chords for this song for about 3 years now. I
determined most of them by watching the "Bathroom Sessions" version. It's pretty
simple, so I'm kind of surprised nobody has tabbed it out yet. Very underrated
song, in my opinion! This is pretty much 100% right, except for the bridge. But it
sounds fine, it's just not exactly how Ed plays that part. But no matter, I hope you enjoy!

[Verse 1]
G Cadd9
We sent in the army
               D
They sounded alarms we
       D (3rd fret) D (5th fret)
Saw it coming from a mile away.
G Cadd9
We kept it off radar
                   D
Cause we had to say our
D (3rd fret) D (5th fret) Cadd9
Intentions were to save the day.

[Pre-Refrain]
    G/B Em7 D7
Why did you fail to see?

[Refrain]
          G
It was a gag
                   G/B
It was all for a laugh
              Cadd9
And they were shocked and they were awed
              Cadd9 (4th fret) D
and they were blown in half
        G
Fun and games
                    G/B
We're just pulling legs
             Cadd9
We knew this barrel of fun
          Cadd9 (4th fret) D
Would be a powder keg

[Verse 2]
We kept it all long-range
and made a regime change
You'd have thought it would have been a gas
But when it got ugly
We sat around smugly
Because you bought our little joke en masse

[Pre-Refrain]
Don't look at me that way

[Refrain]
It was a gag
It was all for a laugh
We knew your sons and daughters
Would be blown in half
Fun and games
We're just pulling legs
We knew this barrel of fun
Would be a powder keg

[Bridge]
Cadd9 G/B
Put a smile on
G G/F# G/B D
We're the ones that you selected
Cadd9 G/B
Leave that dial son
G G/F# G/B D
Because we just got re-elected
Cadd9 G/B
In a while our
G G/F# G/B D
Bill of rights will be rejected
G G/F# G/B D
and all the blame will be deflected
G G/F# G/B D
the forests will be unprotected
G G/F# G/B D
the nation's poor will be neglected
G G/F# G/B D
creation myth is resurrected
G G/F# G/B D
a new salute is genuflected
G G/F# G/B D
a gallup poll will be respected
G G/F# G/B D
gallows pole will be erected
G G/F# G/B Cadd9 D (Strum very fast, then mute the note at the end)
all this will go undetecteeeeeeeeeeeed

[Verse 3]
While you all slumbered
We sat and crunched numbers
Of all the causalities we could afford
There's no need to draft them
You could hear us laugh then
The poor and black all need the room and board

[Pre-Refrain]
Did I say that out loud?

[Refrain]
It was a gag
It was all for a laugh
And now our very nation has been blown in half
Fun and games
We're just pulling legs
We knew this barrel of fun
Would be a powder keg

[Coda]
    G Em7
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
             Cadd9 Cadd9 (4th fret) D
We knew this barrel of fun would be a powder keg
    G Em7 Cadd9
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
       Cadd9 (4th fret) D
It's a powder keg
    G Em7 Cadd9 C9(4 Fr) D
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah [x2]

[End on G]
